Upper Rappahannock Assessment – Waterloo Bridge to Remington

The map below shows river health for from Waterloo Bridge to Remington, VA assessed by the Sweepers for 2017-2018. We define health as – the ability to maintain its structure (organization) and function (vigor) over time in the face of external stress (resilience). An example of an external stress would be flooding.

Sweepers use GPS units to assess health using the following metrics:

  1. Canopy

Totals for these variables are shown as red, yellow, and green. Red means the river has low resilience to stress. Yellow means moderate resilience. Green means high resilience.

The map below shows invasive species only found on the river.
